Alteration Services
Please Note:
- Regular Priced Items: Shortening of sleeves, skirts, or pants is complimentary.
- Sale Priced Items & Other Alterations: Customer is responsible for the cost of alterations.
- Custom Alterations: If the alteration you need is not listed, please bring your item to our store for assessment.
- Leather Panel Replacements: Repairs requiring leather panel replacements may take additional time for ordering appropriate materials.
Alteration Services Offered:
- Sleeves & Cuffs: Shorten, lengthen, taper, new cuffs, or adjust at elbow seams.
- Jeans & Pants: Shorten, taper, take in waist, new zippers, patch knees, or repair tears.
- Skirts: Shorten, take in waist or hips, new linings, or new zippers.
- Coats & Jackets: Shorten, take in sides, add new linings, zippers, collars, and pockets.
- Motorcycle Gear: Adjust sleeves, zippers, linings for chaps, motorcycle pants, and jackets.
- Other Repairs: Repair leather tears, pocket damage, or glue minor leather scratches.
Alteration Process for Customers

Bring the Item to Our Store:
- Visit any of our locations and bring the product you wish to alter.

Assessment & Quote:
- Your item will be sent to our head office for a professional assessment.
- We will review your alteration request and provide a quote for the services.

Service Completion:
- Once you approve the quote, the alterations will be performed by our expert team.

Item Ready for Pickup:
- After the alterations are completed, your item will be sent back to the store where it was dropped off.
- We will notify you when it's ready for pickup.
Alteration and Repair Information for Derek Alexander Collection
Derek Alexander offers repair services for items purchased within the last year or those that have been extremely well cared for.
- Items over 12 months old can still be repaired, but they must show signs of good care.
- For bags that are older or show wear and tear, repairs may still be possible through our in-house service, with an associated cost.
Repair Costs
Repairs for older or heavily used items will range from $20 to $60 per item, depending on the condition and the required work.
